Getting Sorted

We live in a relatively small house. Our house does have 3 bedrooms but they are by no means very large bedrooms. On top of that it doesn't really have much storage. And add to that my love of craft and Nick's love of playing computer games and you had our bedroom which was a complete dumping ground. Everything that couldn't fit anywhere else was in our bedroom. Plus Nick's computer as the games that he plays often have very scary characters in them that aren't really suitable for little eyes. Well they would have given me nightmares as a kid anyway. And then there was all my craft things. Below is the result of our trip to Ikea over the holidays. We now have our bedroom back! Nick has his corner and I have all my stuff organised and put away neatly. Best of all my sewing machine can stay out which means that hopefully I will get to do more crafts. On a side note I have been borrowing a friend's sewing machine for about 6 months and have finally decided to buy one myself. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? We also swapped our bed which was a queen bed for the spare bed which is a double bed. Its amazing the difference this made in space! We have a no kids in our bed rule and now we really can't break it as there is just no room.

This is Kaisha's room. We got a bit more storage for her dolls, accessories and barbies and its looking really great. Best of all everything has a place.
Now we just have to get the baby's room sorted. We have unfortunately had to give up our guest room for the time being. Our couch folds out into a bed and we have lots of tents we can always put up on the lawn. We may put a single bed into the baby's room but will see how everything fits.

Holiday Update

We had two restful weeks off work from Christmas day on. We stayed at home during that time and stayed inside most of the time because it rained so much. I'm sure everyone has seen photos of the flood that is happening here at the moment. we are not affected at all although Nick can't get to work as it is across the river. Otherwise we wouldn't know it is going on as we have had 2 days of lovely weather. Below are some of the photos taken since Christmas.

Inside picnic! While it has been raining the whole time it has also still been hot and very muggy.

Kaisha & Reuben at Ikea. I have been organising! Once I get it all sorted I will post some photos.

Redcliffe lagoon on one of the few sunny days. Unfortunately most other people had the same idea.

28 Weeks

I'm into the 3rd Trimester. I see saw from thinking I have ages left with 12 weeks to go to thinking maybe I only have 4 weeks which is no time at all! As Nick and I are both still on holiday we are spending this week getting the nursery set up as we don't want a repeat of last time when we were totally unorganized and had nothing ready. I go back to work next tuesday and will only be working 2 days from then on so hopefully I am taking it alot easier this time. While I have Sciatica just as bad as last time I have yet to start swelling up like I did so hopefully that is a good sign. The obstetrician has said that there are no indicators that I will go early which is good.

This photo was taken when I was pregnant with Kaisha at 28 weeks

And this was taken this week at the same amount of weeks.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! We spent the evening at Beth and David's having a BBQ. I made it til 10:30 before I broke up the party and was home tucked up in bed before midnight. I guess I'm allowed being pregnant! And what a great start to the new year, Kaisha slept til 8:30am this morning which is the latest she has ever slept. Of course its helped by the fact that it is raining here yet again.
Kaisha and Delta eating dinner together. These two are going to be the best of friends.

Sparklers - not quite sure.

Loving it!
