Southbank Lunch

Last week I met Royal & Ellen Stewart and their daughter'in'law Bethany in at South Bank for lunch. It was a stinking hot day and Kaisha and I got there a bit early so she had a wee swim. We were planning on more swimming after lunch but a massive storm came thru so we sat and watched the lightening instead. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any photos of them which was a bit silly! I made a break for it when it stopped raining and made it to the car park only to drive out into the end of the world. There was water everywhere and scary wind gusts and lightening/thunder. Was quite the experience but we made it home safe.

There is a really neat kids water park that comes on every half hour and squirts water all over the place. Beware unsuspecting parents.

Sleepover

Kaisha had her first friend to sleep over this weekend. Her and Reuben had so much fun together, highlights were:

  • Going through the new tunnel under the Brisbane river on the way home. They were so excited.
  • Playing with balloons, they had the whole packet strew around the house and there was a lot of spit involved.

  • Lying in bed giggling together. We actually made them sleep in different rooms. Otherwise no one would have had any sleep!

  • Seeing two head bent together in the sandpit.

  • Having Reuben come up to me and tell me he has a baby in his tummy (it was a ball). This caused Kaisha to have a fit cause she thought he had her doll up his shirt.
  • Watching them play hid and seek, Kaisha hid behind the curtains and refused to look up at Reuben when he found her, cause as long as she doesn't see him, he can't see her.

They were both exhausted by the time Lou came to pick Reuben up and Kaisha slept in til 8:30 this morning which is a serious sleep in for her.

Visitors

We thoroughly enjoyed having Nick's Uncle John and Auntie Connie to stay this weekend. Kaisha was a little shy initially but warmed up fairly fast. By the time they left she was calling them my auntie Connie and my uncle John.
On saturday we spent the day looking at flats for Laura. She will be moving next thursday. Her flat is 1.2km from her work and 4.5km from us so its perfect. Here are some photos.

Photos to come tomorrow. Nick has promised to buy me another cord so I can download photos again.
