June 06

Hello Everyone (who reads this)

How is everyone? Mel and I are both fine, but are starting to think that maybe we will move on from Brisbane. Nothing definiate, just wanting to travel some more and see new places. Anyway so that means that we are saving hard again and trying not to spend money. It has meant quite a few boring weekends where not much has happenned except doing stuff around the house.

The house is looking a lot better than when we first arrived, although the lawn is dying as Brisbane has not had rain for 3 or 4 months (although its raining right now and has been for the past week on and off). We are on level 3 restrictions which means the dams are down below 30% capacity. The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast both have full dams so I guess we could always go away for the weekend to wash our car and have a shower. Only kidding its not that bad but soon we will be having to pay for our water.

We have booked tickets home to Auckland for Xmas this year, so we are looking forward to that.
Anyway must sign off now as I am at work and have some things to do.
Love to hear from you all.

The New Year

Hi all,

Well another christmas and new year have past. It was good to have my family over for 2 weeks. Our little house is getting better and better as we now have a lawn mower (me??) to mow the lawn with. Mowed the front half again yesterday and now need to do the back again. It seriously took me 1.5 hours to mow the front as the lawn is so thick. Everyone who as been has commented on our nice lawn. We also have a dishwasher now which is really great and Mel is happy cos the kitchen is heaps tidier.
We seem to have had visitors since we moved in but it has been good. Looking at going camping for the weekend up at noosa so that is something to look forward to for the rest of the week.
Mel has started her new job and is really enjoying that, but that is her story so I will leave it to her to tell you all about that.

Anyway I must go, have fun everyone.

October 05

Well this month has been quiet. We have had problems with our car so havn't been going away every weekend like we normally do. Our car has been overheating but we have finally figured out that it's just the gauge playing up and the car isn't overheating at all.

We have had interesting weather lately. The seasons here are so different to New Zealand. We only had 4 days of truely cold weather for winter. Then at the begining of october we skipped spring and went straight into summer. It was 35 degrees here for a couple of days and 30 for a week. Apparently its normal to have a heat wave then. Now its proper spring weather with rain (finally! the dams are down to 34% and we have level 2 water restrictions) and comfortable temperatures of around 25.

We plan to go down to the Gold Coast this weekend. We don't have tickets to go watch the Indy cars racing but we thought we would lie on the beach and listen to them instead. Hope the sun is out!

I really don't have much to say this month. I finally sorted out the photos from our whitsundays holiday so will put those on the net some time soon (no promised). When I do I will also put some on of our current apartment.

20 Sept 2005

Hey Everyone,

How are you all? We haven't heard much from all you back in NZ for awhile.
We had an awesome time with Rene and Janelle up at Airlie Beach, Whitsundays. Lots of sun and lying around which was great. It's definitely a great place for a holiday. Would love to go back sometime. The trip up in the Micra went well apart from one brief stop in Gladstone to repair the belt that drives the power steering and water pump, fortunately we were still in gladstone when it broke.
I don't think we would drive up there again unless we were in a rental car, as the micra seems to have a few things wrong with it now, the most noticeable being the rear shock absorbers are now rather bouncy. It might be a good excuse to lower the car though.

The new place we are living in has quietened down, although we dont like it any better. We are saving hard so that we can buy our own place hopelfully with in the next 6 months. So we are busy looking at the property market.

Liz has just been over for a holiday with us, which was good. We had a weekend up at Maroochydore and another weekend down at Alstonville with Graham and Colleen and the kids.

And thats about all thats been happening around here.

Love to hear from you.

Heading into August

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time since we updated this, since March we have just been working really. Went back to NZ for my graduation in wellington, it was a very fast trip only 4 days and we drove Hamilton Taupo Wellington Taupo Auckland.

We have currently just shifted out of our nice apartment, the first Sunday we were wondering what we had done as the baby next door was crying and the teenage mother was turning up the stereo to drown out the noise. She played the same song 4 times in 1 hour, it was very annoying. Luckily she has since moved out, it is possibly that she did a runner as they left behind some pot plants a table and some of the kids toys.

Anyway, Janelle and Rene are coming over to visit us soon and we are heading up to the Whitsundays, actually its only 13 days away, so that should be awesome.

Must go Mel is unpacking all our stuff and i'm feeling guilty for just sitting here writing this.

March 05

Well, its been awhile since we updated our website, and with mel being at work i guess its my fault. March has been quite boring, so im really looking forward to going to work. Hopefully that feeling will last awhile when i get there.
Most of you will realise that we were home this month, it was great but it made us realise that we also belong in Brisbane now. Its great to finally have a place we can call our own.
And thank you to everyone who has helped us out.

So the big news that prompted me to write this:

I possibly have a job. I have to go for a medical, for insurance purposes, then i will be employed.

Anyway I will write more when i know exactly what division of the company i will be working for.

Cheers, Nick
