Heading into August

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time since we updated this, since March we have just been working really. Went back to NZ for my graduation in wellington, it was a very fast trip only 4 days and we drove Hamilton Taupo Wellington Taupo Auckland.

We have currently just shifted out of our nice apartment, the first Sunday we were wondering what we had done as the baby next door was crying and the teenage mother was turning up the stereo to drown out the noise. She played the same song 4 times in 1 hour, it was very annoying. Luckily she has since moved out, it is possibly that she did a runner as they left behind some pot plants a table and some of the kids toys.

Anyway, Janelle and Rene are coming over to visit us soon and we are heading up to the Whitsundays, actually its only 13 days away, so that should be awesome.

Must go Mel is unpacking all our stuff and i'm feeling guilty for just sitting here writing this.

March 05

Well, its been awhile since we updated our website, and with mel being at work i guess its my fault. March has been quite boring, so im really looking forward to going to work. Hopefully that feeling will last awhile when i get there.
Most of you will realise that we were home this month, it was great but it made us realise that we also belong in Brisbane now. Its great to finally have a place we can call our own.
And thank you to everyone who has helped us out.

So the big news that prompted me to write this:

I possibly have a job. I have to go for a medical, for insurance purposes, then i will be employed.

Anyway I will write more when i know exactly what division of the company i will be working for.

February Update

Hello everyone, Hows things back in NZ? We are slowly settling in over here, although it will be great when i finally get a job. Mel is starting work on the 14th so thats only monday week. Well I have been applying for more jobs in the bank and have got a couple of recruitment agencies looking for me too, but I dont know if they are worth the effort because i find the jobs they have advertised on the internet and apply before they ever get around to ringing. Anyway I am going to look for a casual job as well. There is only so much holiday one can have without being bored to death. Anyway I had better make this do and get back to searching for a job.

Job's and Apartments

Well things are looking up for us here. I (Mel) have a job and we move into an apartment tomorrow.

Last tuesday I have two interviews. One for a pharmaceutical job (boring) and one for a haircare formulation chemist (exciting). I got the pharmaceutical job before I even went for the interview for the haircare job. The interview went well and the job sounded much better so made sure the guy knew how keen I was. He couldn't hire me without permission from his bosses tho, so asked if he could have til the next day. He rang the next morning to say I had the job unofficially but it wouldn't be starting for a few months so I should take the other job and they would get back to me when they needed me. I therefore accepted the pharmaceutical job to start on friday (this was wednesday). On thursday afternoon, the marketing manager of the haircare company phoned to ask for a second interview. I told them the situation and arranged to go in that afternoon. Met with him and the GM at 4pm and got the job to start mid feb. So then had to ring the pharmaceutical company back and turn down the job. Wasn't very fun, but am happy with my choice.

Have also got a tiny apartment in the city which we move into tomorrow. Its in Bowen Hills, right by the Hospital, bus and train stations. Its a 3km walk into town (not likely in the heat).
