Hi all, no more news really. Kaisha has just started phototherapy for jaundice. The video included is of her having a suck on her dummy, something she is not suppose to do for a couple of weeks. But then again she wasn't suppose to be born for a couple of months so rules are made to be broken I guess.

Kaisha Videos
Hi all,
Mel has been discharged from the hospital, so she was home last night for the first time. Even though we don't have Kaisha here we are still getting sleepless nights as Mel is having to get up every 3 hours to express milk to take to Kaisha.
It is werid to think that she is only just 4 days old, it feels like such a long time.
One of the videos below is of me holding Kaisha she looks very small when looked at next to me but she is doing well. Slighty jaundice so will be going under lights today which is pretty normal.
Merry Christmas everyone. I keep forgetting its christmas as there is so much going on.
Love from Nick, Mel and Kaisha

3 Days Old
Hi everyone,
Well it appears that this blog is going to be updated more often these days. Something exciting must have happenned. Anyway enough nonsense you say where are the pictures. Well scroll down. Kaisha has finished all her medications today so the hospital staff have taken out her line so she doesn't have the splint on her arm anymore which is good.
She may need some light therapy for jaundice tomorrow but they are going to test her for that tomorrow. She has been breathing on her own and the nurses say she is doing very well.
Mel has come home this afternoon, the hospital needed her bed and there is not much reason for her to be in there apart from it would have been nice to be closer to Kaisha. Anyway we will be spending a fair amount ot time at the hospital over the next month or two.
Enjoy the pictures.

Kaisha Amber Wood
Hello everyone, well it has been a mad 24 hours for Mel and I.
Our daughter Kaisha was born on the 22/12/2007 at 7.56am weighing 3.14 pounds or 1.75kg. She is only 8 weeks early, so I guess she really didn't want to miss out on Christmas this year.
There doesn't appear to be any reason why she came early. Kaisha is doing very well, she is breathing on her own which is the biggest concern for premature babies. She went striaght to the Intensive Care Nursery but 6 hours later was downgraded to the Special Care Nursery. Melissa is doing well too. So we are both very happy with how things have gone so far.
I have tries to add a little video of our baby. I dont know if it works yet but hopefully you can have a look.

Half Way
I'm now 22 weeks pregnant so a little over half way provided baby arrives on time. Feeling great now which is a relief. I was sick til the 14th week, then had a migraine from the 15th week to the 17th week. Since then have been feeling great! We found out what we are having at the last scan, its a girl! Although we were reminded that its not always correct. She is starting to kick now, just nudges at the moment but I'm sure they will get stronger.
Nick sold his 929 yesterday, and we bought our first box of nappies. Two milestones in one day!
We go to NZ tomorrow for 4 days for Janelle and Rene's wedding. We are looking forward to seeing our families again. Otherwise life is progressing just the same.

Baby on the way!!
Hello All,
I know it has been a really long time since Mel and I updated this site.
So the big news is that Mel is pregnant, and we should have a baby around Valentines day.
We went for the first scan earlier this week, so was very amazing to see it moving and to hear the heart beat. Melissa has not been very well not helped by the fact that she is working night shift currently.
All other news seems quite boring after that. Working, sleeping, trying to sell my car, camping at various times, thats about all.
Anyway we will both try to keep this updated. Hope this finds you all well.
Cheers,
Nick & Mel

August 06
Hi all,
I am just writing to let you all know that I have a new job within Recall. I will be on the 18th of September a Credit Allocation Officer. Which means that I will be looking at bank statements all day and allocating the money to different jobs. Anyway I think it will be better than what I am currently doing with far more Career opportunity.
Anyway it looks like we will be coming home to NZ in October for a certain event and having a weeks holiday at the same time. Should be good.
Things are hotting up in Brisbane, it is definately coming into summer already. Up until the beginning of this week we had 3 months of no rain. Not even a drop. Now it has been raining on and off for 3 days, which is great as it is also falling into our dams which are at an all-time low.
Alton and Liz will be here next weekend and we are going with them up to Mackay for 3 days over the weekend and sometime towards the end of the month Andrea will be coming to stay with us. So its going to be a busy month with lots of visitors and starting a new job.
We both would love to hear from you if you have anything interesting to say or even if you don't have anything interesting to say.
Cheers,
Nick
